If you ever want a San Jose staple Spartans is that place. If you can get through the long line the food is so worth it. This is the type of food that'll settle the munchies, drunchies, or just overall hunger. Beware though it's cash only!

I love Spartans, and I never get sick of it. Recently, my boyfriend and I have been getting into ordering the guacamole from here. Chips are so good here. We like adding lime to our guac. Surprisingly, the one time we arrived on a weekday lunch, we realized the guacamole portion seemed smaller. The other two times, we arrived at night and the guacamole portion was wayyy much more. Perhaps night-runs at Spartan is just the move.

Got the Carne Asada Big Crispy Tacos, and these were delicious. The tortilla is fried flat to be like a chip and it comes with melted cheese, meat, salsa, avocado. The mix of ingredients is the perfect combo and they are generous with their portion of meat. I had 3 tacos and I left pretty full. The only downside to our trip was that from the time we ordered, we had to wait 50 minutes for the food to show up. It wasn't particularly crowded either, so not sure what happened. Theres a parking lot in the back of the restaurant too which is pretty nice and convenient. And also they're cash only, so come prepared.

Hands down, my favorite taco spot in San Jose. I'm usually not up in Norcal but whenever I am, getting Spartan tacos is a must. I was introduced by a friend who's local to SJ and they were not kidding when they said the crispy tacos were the best. Keep in mind, they are CASH ONLY but they do have an ATM in store. - Big Crispy Tacos: I typically order 3 of the big crispy tacos with 2 pastor and 1 chorizo as my meat selection. To be frank, I can't really taste the difference between the meat flavors because there are so many other flavors going on that mask the meat. But still very delicious! - Cali Crispy Tacos: my boyfriend got the cali crispy tacos which are similar to the regular big crispy tacos but they have fries on top! I forgot which meat he selected but these tacos are also very yummy. Again, very similar to the regular ones. Just depends how hungry you are because the Cali ones are more filling. They have a self serve condiment bar with limes, radishes, sauces, onions, cilantro, and more. We came on a Wednesday evening around 4:30 PM and were able to find parking + seated quickly. But I came once before this and we had to wait in the lot for parking. So keep in mind, if you come on a Friday or weekend (especially evening), you might have a harder time finding parking. Service was really good, our orders were taken quickly and our food came out within 5-10 minutes. While waiting for our food, we also made use of the paint markers they provided and doodled on the wall :) The prices definitely went up a little bit since the last time we came, i believe 3 big crispy tacos were $12 and 3 cali crispy tacos were $14. But it's still worth for the yummy tacos. If you haven't tried, this is a sign to go and get yourself some crispy tacos! 10/10!!
